COE sessions cover the topic (as noted) with opportunity for Q&A and for informal conversation about career development including examples and advice based on the speaker’s own experience.

Note: Resident and fellow participation in COE sessions is tracked and reported to Program Directors after each academic year so that they are aware of resident interest as well as additional initiative and commitment, and can reflect this as appropriate in mentoring and reference letters. It is important to sign in at the event so your attendance can be included.

++ This session will review key studies on how people learn and what leads to better learning in adults. This evidence-based approach to improving our learning also frequently leads to opportunities for better teaching. Discussion of the material will enhance the attendee’s understanding of how to use this evidence for better learning and, consequently, better patient care.
