So Tell Me Who You Really Are: Behavioral-Based Interviewing for Postdocs
June 15 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
In the current recruitment landscape, behavioral/situational interviewing is common practice. It has become an essential element in hiring managers’ evaluations of candidates during the interview process. This workshop, presented by Zach Schneeberger, will provide valuable information on how to successfully manage behavioral-based interviews. It will also share useful tips and insights into how to better prepare for these “thinking on your feet” types of questions. The presentation will be followed by a mock interview along with an experiential opportunity to practice responding to behavioral interview questions. Refreshments will be served.
Registration is requested.
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
1. Recognize behavioral interview questions.
2. Distinguish the underlying purpose of behavioral interview questions and how one’s answers may be interpreted.
3. Respond to behavioral interview questions with real examples from the participant’s own experiences.
Zach Schneeberger is an Account Executive at Medix, a Healthcare and Life Science recruiting firm. He spends most of his days passionately helping life science professionals find their next step in their career. He currently partners with various Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical and Medical device organizations to help them find the talent they need to contribute to bringing to market new drugs, therapeutics and devices for patients in need.
This workshop is the fifth in a series of workshops designed to assist postdocs in obtaining the skills necessary to transition to positions in industry. Attendance at these workshops will allow participants to have access to the BWH Postdoc Association’s Connectors Program, a resource for connecting with postdoc alumni who are working in academia and the private sector.
