Please join us for a presentation by Fatima Cody Stanford, MD, MPH, MPA, FAAP, FTOS, a DSC Associate and Instructor in Medicine and Pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH)/Harvard Medical School (HMS). In the seminar, Dr. Stanford will explore obesity as a disease. She will discuss racial and ethnic disparities that exist in the prevalence and treatment of obesity, as well as the pathophysiology of obesity. This talk will also explore issues surrounding obesity and socioeconomic status, education level, weight perception, provider diagnosis, medical expenditures, pharmacotherapy, and bariatric surgery.
All Keeping Current Seminar series events are free and open to the public, and members of local health care and research communities are encouraged to attend.
