May 23 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

BWH Researchers, please join the IACUC & CCM for the webinar: “Microbiota of Laboratory Animals: An Emerging Frontier.”

During this AALAS Webinar, Dr. Craig Franklin will discuss how diverse, naturally occurring gut microbiota profiles significantly influence model phenotypes, based on studies of lesion score severity in a mouse model of inflammatory bowel disease and tumor burden in rat and mouse models of colorectal cancer.

Dr. Franklin will also discuss the development of and applications for mouse colonies with standardized gut microbiota complex for the ultimate goal of refining models towards optimal reproducibility and translatability.
